20th Anniversary Optimus Prime by Dirge

Rated: G • starstarstarstarstar
Summary: Despite the unnecessary modifications Hasbro made, this is a great toy. Whether you have Hasbro's or Takara's version, you should like this version of Optimus Prime. The truck mode is slightly disjointed, mainly because the focus was clearly on the robot

Abominus by Dirge

Rated: G • starstarstarstarstar
Summary: One of the better square-peg based Gestalts as a combined form, he's not a series of sticks like Superion, more stable than Bruticus and has a much better body shape than Menasor.

Actionmaster Bombshell by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: An unusual choice for an Actionmaster, sure, but it's nice to see a relatively minor character like Bombshell in the series. It's not entirely faithful to the original, but is still distinctly Bombshell, and looks good in it's own right.

Adventure Team by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: Two good toys and one so-so toy make this a good set overall. Duneraider is the stand out, Iceberg is also nice, and even Ransack has his good points.

Afterburner by Dirge

Rated: G • starstarstarstarstar
Summary: Afterburner has good bike mode, both in design and aesthetic. He's got a reasonably good robot mode, with a few things holding it back.

Afterburner (Superion torso) by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: The worst of the new Aerialbots, although I wouldn't quite call this a bad toy. While I can partially excuse some of the weaknesses in the engineering, I'm not so forgiving about the robot mode colours and downright annoyed this toy has no weapon.

Air Military Team by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: All three toys have strong points here. Gunbarrel and Terradive are good, despite some flaws and Gunbarrel's weapon mode is awesome. All three have good plane modes and make for a good set of accessories.

Air Patrol by Dirge

Rated: G • starstarstarstar
Summary: Two good Micromasters in Eagle Eye and Blaze Master are enough to make this set worthwhile, so it's a set I recommend to Micromaster fans

Air Raid by Dirge

Rated: G • starstarstarstarstar
Summary: One of the better Aerialbots, Air Raid's got colours that work for him and he's lucky enough to have a good plane mode. No real kibble in plane mode and well dealt with robot mode kibble. About as poseable as small toys got in his era.

Air Raid by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: Probably the weakest of the three Cyberjet moulds, however they've fixed the main physical flaw of the mould. The colours used are simply bizarre yet they come together okay.

Air Raid (G2) by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: One of the better Aerialbots, and he survived the G2 recolour process, unlike a lot of G2 recolours. Which warms me even more to this recolour. No real kibble in plane mode and well dealt with robot mode kibble. About as poseable as small toys got in his

Air Rider (Treadshot) by Dirge

Rated: G • star
Summary: All that and a can of coke, Air Rider is one of the best basics in Energon to date. The colours, paint mask and sculpt are all great, the robot mode is very playable and the plane mode solid.

Airazor by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: Good colours, great play value, attention to detail and terrific engineering make Airazor a toy well worth picking up.

Airazor (Transmetal) by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: The bird mode has too many colours and needs a weapon, but is otherwise sound. Meanwhile her robot mode has great articulation and has pretty nice colours, but a killer backpack. One of the weaker Transmetals, but it's a pretty high standard line.

Airazor (Video Park Recolour) by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: Overall this is a good toy, but the original is better and was sold for less.

Airazor and Nightscream by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: There's not really much new in this set if you have Transmetal Airazor and the Street Speed Team. But the colour schemes of both Airazor and Nightscream are improvements. The indigo is great, and Airazor's robot mode is good. If you don't have the origina

Airhammer by Dirge

Rated: G • starstarstarstarstar
Summary: Not everyone's cup of tea. Fuzor critics tend not to think much of this guy - and while I like the Fuzor concept I think it has to be done right (not a hornet that forgot to brake and embedded itself in a fish...). Having said that I personally think this

Ambush by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: A tech spec for Ambush, AKA G2 Brawl.

Arcee by Dirge

Rated: G • starstarstarstarstar
Summary: About bloody time. We've waited almost two decades for an Arcee toy, and this toy delivers fairly well as a G1 Arcee in a new configuration. As an Energon toy in her own right, Arcee is a very good basic, with nice colours, two solid modes and a kick-ass

Argentus by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: A tech spec for Argentus, AKA Fox Kids! Transmetal Rattrap.

Armordillo by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: The armadillo mode is actually quite good and the overall sculpt is great but some design flaws really drag the robot mode down.

Armorhide by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: Hardly anything new in the mould, only the addition of a place to stow his handgun in tank mode. Still, the mould change is for the better. Some people will prefer the somewhat more "natural" colours of Danger, but Armorhide's certainly easier and cheaper

Astrotrain by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: One of the better Triple Changers, Astrotrain has some flaws, but both vehicle modes look like what they're meant to be and none of his modes are a mess. Since he plays a fairly prominent part in the cartoon, he's a toy a lot of people will probably want

Australian Transformers Toylist by Dirge

Summary: A listing of all Transformers Toys released in Australia from 1984 onwards.

Autobot Construction Patrol by Dirge

Rated: G •
Summary: Overall, this is a nice set. Crumble and Neutro are great Micromasters, Groundpounder isn't perfect, but I still recommend him. Takedown is pretty much baggage, but there are worse Micros out there. You've even got two toys in Crumble and Groundpounder th
