The insults, the flame-wars, the posters who think they can put somebody down over little things. Still I come hoping something good will come out of all this. Sometimes nothing good comes at all.

My unsubscribing wouldn't make a difference to the newsgroup because the more irate posters to alt.toys.transformers believe that placing "Stop" signs on certain subjects outside the forum has no bearing on what the NG (newsgroup) is about. So you get a lot of people who either want things to be the way they were or don't care either way what happens so long as they are in the spotlight.

It really doesn't surprise me at all. Everybody just loves to start a fight because it makes them feel superior to the others in some way. Usually when arguments arise I either killfile the offending person in my Agent Newsreader or mark things read. Railing against the instigators only makes the problem worse.

It's usually the summer and winter months when new subscribers (Newbies) crash into the fray and are met by a lot of the more established ones who are trying to keep the inner circle too close knit. Therefore they are shut out of this "Billionaires' Club" and resentment festers like leaking oil.

Still I stay. I'm too stubborn to leave. I'm too old to pretend that nothing has happened to this newsgroup over the course of a decade. It makes me kind of sad.
