To preface this with a warning:

This story came from a somewhat dark period of time for me. A friend of mine died under tragic circumstances, and I ended up not being able to mourn due to a combination of everyone else needing to lean on me and a series of emergencies and other obligations piling on top of each other. 

I decided to do a little deconstructing work - http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Deconstruction - to vent my personal frustrations. I'd been watching a few episodes of Energon here and there (both to keep moving and to help plug holes in the TF Wiki), and given just how screwed up much of the cast is it seemed like a natural target.
