Brawn sat at the bar of his favorite place. He looked at his Energon cube with a distant gaze, as if he weren’t looking just at that one object.

The Great War had ended years ago, and with peace now established between the Decepticons and Autobots, Brawn had finally settled down, or at least that’s what many thought. He had gotten married, true, but his Gung-ho spirit was still going strong. Even now, his age starting to catch up with him, he could still pull down a Decepticon with one hand. He also had gotten an ‘upgrade’ so to speak, he was larger, and not quite the Minibot he used to be. He came up to Ratchet’s middle chest now. Still, to the bartender something didn’t seem right.

“You okay Brawn?” Bluestreak asked leaning over the bar at the mech. Bluestreak had matured a little over the time that the war ended. Though his bright optics and young looking face, gave the appearance he was still in his, in earth terms, late teens early twenties.

“Huh? Oh, yeah...I’m okay. Just doing some heavy thinking.” Brawn sighed and continued to swish the drink in his hands.

“About what?” Bluestreak asked smiling hoping just to have a conversation in the current still at the bar.

“Well....” Brawn paused and rethought about the news he was given.

“Yeah?” Brawn took another sip from his drink and swallowed.

“I’m going to be a father.” Brawn smiled as he said the news aloud.

“REALLY!? WOW! That’s great! Congratulations Brawn!” Bluestreak smiled widely at his friend. Brawn chuckled a bit and rubbed the back of his head.

“Thanks Blue. I’m nervous though...” Bluestreak chuckled.

“I would be too, well if I had a wife that is.” Brawn nodded.

“Yeah...speaking of which, I should head home. I’ll see you later Blue.” Bluestreak nodded with a smile.

“No problem. Take care...” Bluestreak watched as Brawn finished up his drink and walked out.

Brawn walked home, smiling and thinking about the new life that he and his wife, Firebird, were bringing into existence. He chuckled to himself; he had changed since the war had ended. He was a bit softer, not as Gung-ho as he was when the war began, but he figured it was because of his wife and his upcoming child. He sighed and transformed to his Land Rover mode and sped off to his home.

“Firebird?” Brawn asked as he walked into their home.

“Hi Brawn...” Firebird walked up and hugged her husband. She was a red and silver mech with a blue helmet and soft cobalt blue optics, like any Autobot.

“How are you doing?” Brawn asked looking into her optics.

“I’m okay, Brawn. Have you told any of you’re friends at the bar?” She asked sitting down.

“Well I told Bluestreak...and knowing him the rest of the gang will know by tomorrow. I’m gonna try not to go there as often, with a kid on the way, I should be spending more time with you.” Firebird smiled and looked at the floor.

“You don’t have to do that Brawn...” She said with a chuckle.

“Yes I do. But don’t worry...the guys can get along fine without me there every two days.” Firebird looked up at him as he held her face.

“Oh baby...” Firebird stood up and embraced Brawn again, tears of joy flowing down her cheeks.

“I’m so happy Brawn...” Brawn nodded and returned the fond holding.

“So am I. We’re gonna be parents. Prowl’s gonna flip his lid that’s for sure.” Brawn said with a chuckle as they regrettably broke off.

“I can just see it. He’ll probably do a mental U-turn and crash...well not seriously I hope.” Firebird chuckled with a smile.

“Same here. So, what are we gonna name him or her?” Brawn asked. Firebird sighed with a shrug.

“I don’t know...I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.” Brawn smiled and sat down next to his wife. He still couldn’t believe that he was going to be a father for the first time.

Months had past and Firebird had delivered a boy. Brawn was elated with the birth of his son, as was Firebird.

Their son was green and silver with surprisingly gold optics. He held a facemask rather than the normal face, and he had quite a southpaw. The Autobot emblem was clearly marked on his left arm. It was clear from the start that Brawn’s son had the same, ‘get up and get 'em’ attitude. And he was strong, just like his father.

Firebird had named him, X-Brawn after her husband.

“Hey Kid-o.” Brawn smiled at his son who was sitting happily on the couch. Brawn sat down next to him and chuckled. X-Brawn was only a month old, but contrary to human standards, he was mentally almost a year.

Transformers developed mentally faster than human children, which actually did make sense. So it was no surprise that X-Brawn was already starting to explore his surroundings.

“Well...isn’t this a sight? My two boys sitting there, looking innocent. But I know better than that, what are you two hiding?” Firebird asked with a smile.

“We aren’t doing anything...just hanging out. Right X-Brawn?” X-Brawn looked up to his father and nodded.

“When did Ratchet say he was going to start talking?” Firebird asked as she sat down next to her son.

“About one and a half maybe two years old. But I have a feeling that He’ll start talking about one. He’s a fast learner.” Brawn said placing his hand around the small child. X-Brawn leaned over onto his father, his optics bright in his own way of smiling.

Brawn smiled at the small mech. X-Brawn was a lot like him, and he was actually amazed at the degree of how much his son was like him.

“He’s a trooper that’s for sure.” Firebird said stroking her son’s head with a motherly smile.

“Yeah. I heard that Prowl did flip his lid when he heard about our son. Ended up spitting his Energon all over Bluestreak...I can picture that...well with a role change.” Brawn chuckled and leaned back a bit.

“Really now? That’s something. I feel bad for Prowl sometimes.” Firebird chuckled to herself as X-Brawn sat in her lap.

“Really why?”

“Well...think about it, having to fight along with you, Cliffjumper and Bluestreak? It must have been a trip.”

“Oh yeah...it was...but Prowl’s a good guy. A little to serious for my taste but a good guy.”

X-Brawn yawned and leaned up against his mother’s chest trying desperately not to doze off, but he wasn’t winning that contest. His optics were already half offline but he wanted to hear more stories about his father’s friends and other things.

“Looks like the little guy’s falling asleep. I’ll put him to bed Firebird.” Brawn stood up and took the small mech from his wife’s arms.

X-Brawn objected a bit but he was too tired to squirm for long. And soon, he was fast asleep in his father’s arms.

Brawn smiled as his son fell asleep in his arms. He chuckled to himself and gently set the boy down in his crib. Putting the small blanket over his son, Brawn smiled and leaned lightly on the crib’s side.

“He fell asleep on the way up.” Brawn said as Firebird leaned her head on his shoulders.

“I figured. He’s so sweet.” Brawn nodded with out a word, and then the two left, leaving their son to sleep.

Months passed and X-Brawn was now nearing his first birthday.

X-Brawn looked down the stairs chuckling to him self. He had the plan, he had the equipment, and he had the guts to pull off something. Now...he just had to make sure that he didn’t hurt himself. But being so young, he didn’t care, he wanted to have fun.

Having fun usually meant bugging his father, but lately he felt a bit more...daring. As he heard his father say,

‘More like Cliffjumper, Bluestreak and Ironhide all rolled into one.’ X-Brawn giggled and rolled the ‘skateboard’ to the edge of the stairs. He sat in the middle and looked over the edge of the stairs. He gulped a bit and shut off his optics. When he opened them again, he felt he was ready. He used his feet to back up a bit and then pulled them in and crossed them. Then using his arms he pushed himself towards the stairs as fast as she could.

Everything went without a hitch, for the first few steps. Then the tip of the board hit the top of the step, and X-Brawn went the rest of the way down on his butt. The sudden clash and crash of the board and X-Brawn brought the unwanted attention to him from his parents.

“X-BRAWN!!” His parents chorused in panic as they saw him sitting there on his rear end with a far off look.

“Are you okay?!” Firebird asked in a motherly panic.

“X-Brawn? What were you doing?” Brawn asked still concerned but now wondering what his son was doing.

“X-Brawn?” Firebird knelt down in front of him and placed her hands on her small son’s shoulders.

“Is he hurt?” Brawn asked also kneeling and putting his hands on his son’s shoulders.

X-Brawn giggled.

“YEEE HAW!!!” He said with a giggle as he clambered up the stairs to slide down again.

Brawn and Firebird glanced at each other. Firebird then glared at her husband who sheepishly grinned back.

“You let him hang around Ironhide way to much...did he just speak?” Firebird suddenly went stunned. Brawn smiled and nodded.

“Yeah...he just spoke. Here he comes again...” Brawn smiled as X-Brawn slid down the stairs without the aid of the ‘skateboard’, yelling “yee haw” all the way down.

“What did my mother always say? When you get married and have a kid, NEVER let you’re baby boy grow up to be a cowboy.” Firebird couldn’t help but smile as X-Brawn’s seemingly persistent giggles and ‘yee haw’s’ as he slid down the stairs.

“I don’t think it’s that bad. I mean, look at Ironhide.” Brawn said smiling and picking up his son with one sweep.

“Oh...I should have had a daughter.” Firebird said with a smile, as she walked back to finish up her book.

X-Brawn looked at his father in question.

“She didn’t mean it...You know that.” Brawn smiled and set him down to go and continue to have his fun. X-Brawn laughed and climbed the stairs once again to slide down. Brawn chuckled and watched his son for a while before finally catching X-Brawn and spinning him around, both of them chuckling and laughing.

Firebird looked up from her book as she heard her husband and son laughing and having a good time. She smiled and chuckled before finally putting the book aside and joining her husband and son in the games.

“Phew...that kid sure has a lot of energy.” Brawn said closing the door to X-Brawn’s room. Firebird smiled and nodded with a sigh. The two smiled and walked back downstairs.

“Like this dad?” X-Brawn asked as he held his fists up. Brawn nodded with a fond smile.

“Yep. Just like that…now don’t be afraid, hit my hands okay?” X-Brawn was now two years old and learning fast. Brawn had decided that it was best to teach his son how to fight, and when to fight. Even if most of the time the two ended up tussling on the floor with each other.

X-Brawn smiled under his facemask and hit his father’s hands, gently. Brawn of course over reacted just for the fun of it.

“Woah! That was pretty hard there…” X-Brawn started to laugh and hit again, a little bit harder. Brawn stumbled back a bit onto his butt with a smile.

They went on like this for quite some time, but it wasn’t long until Brawn and his son were already wrestling around for fun.

Firebird watched with a smile. She had her arms crossed over her chest and was leaning up against the door frame.

“Brawn…if you could spare a moment, I’d like to talk to you.” Brawn looked up from his light pin on his son with a questionable face. He then turned back to his son.

“I’ll be right back okay?” X-Brawn nodded and sat down on the floor as his parents left.

Questions began to run though X-Brawn’s mind as to what his parents were talking about. He became worried to tell the truth. Worried that whatever it was they were talking about, it could be about him, that he did something wrong. So, slowly, he crept down the hall and to the overhang to the living room. He peeked is head through the bars, and listened quietly.

“...what about X-Brawn?” He heard his father ask.

“Do you think he should know?” His mother answered. There was an odd silence.

“I’m not sure, but I think he’s ready…” There was silence again and he could hear them start to walk towards the stairs. A bit of panic ran through him as he looked around. But he walked to the stairs still curious as to what exactly his parents were talking about.

“Hey X-Brawn…” His father said a smile on his face.

“What’s goin’ on?” X-Brawn asked in wonder.

Firebird and Brawn looked at each other before turning back to their son. Firebird lifted up her son and hugged him.

“We have some news for you X-Brawn…” The small family made their way back downstairs and to the living room.

“Really?!” X-Brawn asked excitedly. His parents nodded with fond smiles.

“Yes, you’re going to have a baby brother or sister.” Brawn said as his son looked excitedly at them. X-Brawn smiled brightly and hugged his mother and father.

Time passed and his parents had gotten ready for the new arrival. X-Brawn helped out a lot during this time. His father always had time to play around with his son.

Another month and Firebird had her second son. He was black and white and like his older brother, had a facemask. His optics were a bright yellow. They named him Prowl, because Brawn said that he reminded him of his friend.

“Two boys…this is gonna be trouble.” Brawn said with a smile as he held Prowl in his arms. It was late afternoon and they had been up since early that morning it had been almost a week since Prowl’s birth.

“Brawn…You haven’t seen you’re friends in a while, why don’t you go and see them. X-Brawn and I can hold down the fort…right?” Firebird looked at X-Brawn on her lap.

“Yep! We can!” He said brightly. Brawn was weary a bit.

“No…I should stay here…” Firebird looked at her husband with a playful glare.

“Brawn…go…have fun. Go scare the living daylights out of Bluestreak and Prowl at the bar. I’m sure Prowl will be glad to hear you named you’re second son after him.” Brawn sighed and looked down at the small mech in his arms. He smiled and then slowly got up and handed his wife their son.

“Alright…you talked me into it.” Prowl wiggled a bit in his sleep but fell asleep again quickly. Firebird smiled and kissed Brawn goodbye.

“I’ll be back soon.” He said with a smile. X-Brawn waved goodbye as his father walked out. He walked over to his mother and crawled up on the couch next to her. He looked at his baby brother with a smile under his mask.

Brawn walked into the bar and sat down at his usual spot.

“Hey Brawn!” Bluestreak called out with a smile.

“Hey Blue.” Brawn smiled at picked up the Energon that Bluestreak set down in front of him.

“So. How’s father life?” A voice called out from next to him. Brawn turned his head and looked at Prowl who was sipping his Energon.

“Not bad. I’m sure you’ve all heard about my second son.” Prowl nodded with a smile.

“Another boy? What’s his name?” Prowl sipped his Energon again. Brawn smirked.

“Prowl.” Prowl himself almost choked, causing Bluestreak to duck this time. Luckily Prowl swallowed hard and looked over wide eyed at the Brawn who was smirking and sipping his drink.

“You’re joking.” He said not believing him. Brawn shook his head and chuckled. Bluestreak finally came up from under the bar.

“No I’m not. His name is Prowl.” Prowl sighed and shook his head, covering his optics.

“I guess I should feel honored.” He mumbled, a smile heard in his voice.

“Maybe.” Prowl cleared his throat and sipped his drink.

“How’s X-Brawn about all of this?” Bluestreak asked.

“He’s taking it well. He’s excited about it really.” Bluestreak chuckled with a smile.

Back at home, Firebird and X-Brawn were taking care of Prowl and keeping occupied, as the day grew slowly to an end.

X-Brawn was sitting down on the floor with Prowl and making his little brother laugh. Firebird was on the couch reading a book and watching her sons play.

X-Brawn looked up at his mother for a moment, and then back at Prowl.

“Wanna go up on the couch, Prowl?” Prowl blinked a few times, before X-Brawn pointed to the couch behind him. Prowl understood right away and nodded. X-Brawn got up, brushed himself off, picked up his little brother with some effort, and walked over to the couch.

Firebird put down her book and looked at her sons. She smiled and set her book aside, helping the two up on the couch.

“Tell us a story mom.” X-Brawn said as he helped Prowl onto their mother’s lap. X-Brawn then sat next to her, as Firebird moved over so he could squeeze in.

“Well what kind of story do you two want to hear?” Prowl simply shrugged and snuggled with his mother.

“I don’t know. Just a happy story.” X-Brawn nuzzled up against his mother’s side as she placed her arm around his small frame.

“Alright…” Firebird thought for a moment before starting a story, which she made up as she went along. The story was about two brothers, who loved their parents very much, and whose parents loved them just as much. How they grew up to be great leaders, not in war, but of peace, they were well respected and very intelligent, and how they lived happily ever after, the boys and their parents. Of course, as soon as Firebird said those four words, Prowl and X-Brawn were both asleep nuzzling against their mother. Prowl, who moved his mask aside, was now contently sucking on his thumb.

“My boys…” Just as Firebird began to stroke her sons’ heads, the door to their home opened quietly.

Brawn made his way softly towards the living room where he saw his wife and children. He smiled and walked over to them.

“How long have they been asleep?” He asked not raising his voice above a whisper.

“Almost 15 minuets.” Firebird said as Brawn picked up his oldest son.

“I’m sorry I’m late, but we were having a lot of fun, and I lost track of time.” Brawn said his eyes a dimmer azure, showing his fatigue.

“That’s alright…Come on, let’s put the munchkins to bed.” Firebird gently picked up Prowl from her lap and the two went upstairs to X-Brawn’s and Prowl’s shared room. They tucked them into their beds, kissed them goodnight, and went into their own room, where they retired.

Three months had passed, and Prowl was walking and exploring his world, just has his brother did at the similar age.

“Hey Prowl! Wanna play tag?” X-Brawn asked as Prowl sat in their room. Prowl thought for a moment, and then nodded his head excitedly.

“Okay, I’ll be it, that okay with you?” Prowl shrugged and stood up.

“Okay, I’ll give you to three…” Prowl’s optics were bright at X-Brawn covered his eyes and started to count. “1…2…” Prowl quickly ran over to the other side of the room with a giggle.

“3! Ready or not, I’m gonna getchya!” X-Brawn looked around for a moment, before he saw Prowl peeking out from the side of his crib. X-Brawn smiled under his mask and jogged over to where his brother was.

Prowl giggled with excitement and crawled under the crib where X-Brawn couldn’t get him, with out following.

“Hey come back here!” X-Braw cried out laughing.

Prowl crawled out the other side and jumped onto his big brother’s bed and jumped on it before climbing down and running out the door.

“Hey! I didn’t know we were playin’ follow the leader now!” X-Brawn smiled widely and quickly followed his brother. He stopped out in the hall and looked both ways looking for Prowl.

“Where’d he go?” He asked to himself. Then to the side a loud giggle came out and Prowl poked his head up from the third step down, and then continued going down slowly. X-Brawn giggled and headed over holding the railing and going down slowly

Prowl jumped from the last step and started to run off into the kitchen. He passed his parents who laughed and told him to slow down between their chuckles.

X-Brawn was laughing and trying to hurry up to catch up to Prowl when his heal slipped on the stairs and he fell down.

“WOAAAH!!!” The loud crash and almost instant whimpers caused Brawn and Firebird to run to the stairs.

Prowl peeked around the corner and into the kitchen where he heard the clatter. He became worried as he heard crying and quickly made his way to the stairs, very worried for his brother. He ran through the doorway to where his mother was cuddling X-Brawn, who was sniffling, his mask to the side, as his father looked over his leg.

Prowl walked over to X-Brawn, feeling very responsible for his brother’s mishap. He nuzzled against his mother who looked at him with a fond smile and stroked his head. He looked at X-Brawn, who was sniffling still. He swallowed hard and tried to speak.

“Eh…X-B-Brawn………?” He stuttered a bit and looked worriedly at X-Brawn.

X-Brawn stopped sniffling a bit and looked at Prowl.

“You…you just said my name…” He smiled a bit, which slowly grew.

“Dang…our boys pick up on stuff pretty quickly, eh Firebird?” Brawn said with a smile as he finished wrapping up his son’s leg.

“Yes, I’m not surprised at all. You’re their father after all…” Firebird set X-Brawn down, who got hugged by Prowl happy that X-Brawn was okay, and smiled at Brawn.

Brawn chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. He got up and helped his wife up as well with a smile. He looked down at his sons with a fond smile.

X-Brawn had stopped crying and was now laughing and asking for Prowl to say his name again, to which he complied with some difficulty.

Firebird laid her head on Brawn’s shoulder and sighed happily. Brawn chuckled and rubbed her arm as the two watched their two children play around.

Night fell several weeks later and X-Brawn and Prowl were growing older and closer as well. The two slept soundly for the most part, but Prowl began to toss and turn in his crib. He whimpered and what sounded like he was crying, this is what woke X-Brawn up. Usually he was used to his younger brother’s almost nightly crying but this was a different sound, as if he were afraid.

X-Brawn woke up and rubbed the sleep from his optics and looked at his little brother in the dark. He reached over to the night stand and fiddled with the light before he finally was able to turn it on. He got out of his bed and walked over to his brother’s crib. He stood on his tip toes to try and drop the side of it so he could get to his brother. He did and he gently put it down and climbed up on it gently putting his hand on his little brother.

Prowl woke up right away and at first started to cry, but as the sleep left his optics and he stopped and sat up hugging his older brother.

“What’s wrong Prowl?” X-Brawn asked looking at him.

“Bad…dream.” Prowl was able to say wiping his tears away.

“Oh…hey just a second I’ll be right back…” X-Brawn dropped to the floor and went over to his bed and dug under it for a second. He came back with a stuffed bear and gave it to Prowl.

“He’ll protect ya…” X-Brawn said with a smile under his mask. Prowl took the bear and hugged it.

“Thanks…” He said softly as he snuggled back into his bed. X-Brawn helped cover him up and then closed up the crib for his brother to sleep. Then, tired he crawled back into his bed and turned off the light smiling at his brother’s shadow. He loved his younger brother, and would do almost anything for him.

Another year passed, Prowl was a year and a half and X-Brawn was three.

“CHICKEN!!” Prowl teased before running off.

“I am not!” X-Brawn laughed and chased after his brother.

“Boys, boys! Calm down now, will you?” Firebird said picking up her youngest son. Prowl chuckled and made a face at X-Brawn, who just pouted a bit, until Brawn came up from behind him and lifted him up onto his shoulders.

“YEEEE HAWW!!!” X-Brawn crowed as he held onto his father. Both Firebird and Brawn chuckled and smiled at their boys with fondness.

“We have some big news for you two…” Firebird said as she held Prowl in her arms.

“Really?” Prowl asked excitedly. X-Brawn smiled widely and put his chin on his father’s head.

“What’s it about?” He asked with a giggle.

“Well let’s go into the living room, sit down and talk about it.” Brawn smiled and held his son’s ankles before walking off.

The two brothers were excited about the news.

“Wow! I’m gonna be a big brother!” Prowl said proudly.

“And I’m gonna be one again!” X-Brawn pulled his younger brother over and rubbed his head chuckling.

“I’m glad you two are excited. And you guys know you’re going to have to help you’re mother and I around the house right?” The brothers nodded with smiles.

“We will, we promise!” X-Brawn declared as his brother was too busy giggling to say anything. Firebird and Brawn smiled and picked them up again to play.

A few months passed and both of the brothers were excited about their upcoming brother or sister.

“Whatchya gonna name him?” Prowl asked sitting on his father’s lap. Brawn looked over at Firebird. She smiled and thought for a moment.

“Well…If it’s a boy, we both agreed on Sideburn right Brawn?” Brawn smiled and nodded.

“Yep and if it’s a girl, Ellipse.”

“That’s a pretty name, for a girl…” X-Brawn commented from his seat.

“Yeah, your mother and I both liked that name, as well as Sideburn.” Prowl chuckled and looked over at his mother. She chuckled and smiled.

“Well we had to argue over Sideburn for a while. But we both liked it.” The family chuckled and returned to their normal routine for the day.

A few more months passed and Brawn, X-Brawn and Prowl waited for the news from Ratchet.

Ratchet walked out with a smile.

“You just seem to get boys all the time Brawn. But…I want to talk to you for a minuet, alone before you see him.” Brawn’s spark sunk to his ankles at that news, but his sons could have cared less, and Ratchet showed them to their mother.

Ratchet came back and sighed deeply.

“Look, I know you too well Brawn.” Ratchet said looking at the fellow veteran from the Great War.

“What’s wrong with my son?” Brawn asked worriedly.

“Well two things. I’m worried about his immune and built in repair system. He’s small and I’m worried about how he’ll grow.”

“And the other?” Ratchet sighed and closed his cool blue optics for a moment.

“Just…just remember that he is your son.” Ratchet turned away and walked back into the room. Brawn followed very worriedly.

As he walked into the small room, he saw Firebird in a bed holding a small blue mech, around her X-Brawn and Prowl stood with their optics bright and hushed voices. She looked tired, but Brawn expected that. He also noticed that though she smiled at the child, she seemed to frown at Brawn.

Slowly he crept up to his wife and his new son. He was relieved to see that, he was normal in every aspect of a new born Transformer. He was different from his brother’s though.

There was a glass shield over his left closed optic. Brawn took it to be a future sight for when the small mech got old enough. He didn’t have a face mask, unlike his brothers. All and all though, he seemed very normal. Brawn smiled and knelt down next to the bed.

“He is your son Brawn. Sideburn is your son.” Firebird said softly. The mech in her arms began to stir, and his optics flashed slowly to life, his crimson red optics.

Brawn’s face went hard as Sideburn’s optics came online.

X-Brawn and Prowl exchanged a glance to each other, one of wonder and curiosity.

“What’s wrong?” Prowl asked softly to his brother. X-Brawn shrugged and started to make his way up onto the bed.

“Brawn please…” Firebird said very hushed, so much so that X-Brawn and Prowl could barely hear her. Brawn glared for a moment at Sideburn, who had fallen asleep again, before turning away and walking out.

Firebird looked at her sons and frowned with a sigh.

“What the HELL is going on Ratchet?!” Brawn roared at the larger Autobot.

Ratchet glared at Brawn, he expected a reaction from Brawn very similar to this.

“Look Brawn, he’s your son! It’s not my fault that his optics are the way they are! You know that the body is built as Vector Sigma gives the spark personality!” Ratchet paused to calm down, but realized that Brawn wasn’t at all calming down.

“Brawn, I’ve been seeing more and more verity with Autobots, as well as some Decepticons these days. Now straiten up Brawn! He’s your son, for Primus’ sake. He’s your son!” Brawn listened to Ratchet and tried to calm down.

“Y…you’re right. I guess I’m still the gruff old Autobot I was before huh?” Brawn smiled kindly at Ratchet, who, after a moment, returned it.

“More so than ever…Hey…don’t you have a wife and three boys to go and see?” Ratchet smiled at the mech.

“Yeah…I…I’m sorry for blowing up on you like that. I need to be a little bit more accepting now-a-days. I’ll see you later.” Brawn then turned and walked out.

“See ya.” Ratchet grinned a bit and then turned back to his schedule, and frowned to know that Wheeljack had, as he had for as long as Ratchet could remember, had an ‘accident’ in his lab.

Brawn walked into Firebird’s room, feeling terrible about walking out before. Firebird had smiled as Brawn walked sheepishly into the room again, much to his relieve.

“Are you sure okay now?” She asked in a whisper. Brawn nodded.

“Yeah…I’m fine…I’m sorry boys, for walking out and making you worry.” Brawn gave his two eldest sons a gentle rub on the head before looking at Sideburn again, who was a bit more awake now.

Brawn finally realized the Autobot emblem on his son’s left arm and the gentle, smile that the young mech gave him. Brawn returned the smile and put his hand on Sideburn’s head.

Sideburn looked up into the optics of his father and seemingly sighed in relive that he was accepted by him. He cuddled his mother for a while feeling very happy.

Firebird handed Sideburn to Brawn and sat up a bit more. She chuckled lightly as X-Brawn made his way into her lap. She knew that everything was going to be fine then. That everything was alright.

A few months went by; Sideburn would often play small games of tag and Hide-n-go Seek with his brothers at times. He often would play it, and ‘mysteriously’ he would find his brothers, who often hid very obviously behind chairs or under things.

X-Brawn now a little over 4 years old, seemed to be a little bit more mature and helped his parents out a lot. Though that was only when he was asked, most of the time he was playing and causing all around trouble.

Prowl who had still to reach his third birthday, seemed to be getting a bit more troublesome as well. Not acting much like his namesake, he would dash up and down the hallways chasing X-Brawn, and slipping on the loose traction of the floor at times.

All in all, life was smiling upon Brawn and his family, until something took a terrible turn for the worse.

Prowl yawned and looked at X-Brawn who was still coloring away. He smiled a bit and chuckled.

“So, we’re gonna get Sideburn a stuff animal?” He asked with a smile to his own drawing. It wasn’t much, just some stick figures that represented himself, his brothers and his parents.

“Yep. He’ll love it, I’m sure.” X-Brawn chuckled, but it didn’t last long. Prowl started to chuckle but noticed that X-Brawn had quickly fallen silent and so did he.

X-Brawn noticed the silence that filled their room. This was odd for the fact that Sideburn had been quiet merrily snoring away. The sudden quiet worried X-Brawn and Prowl.

X-Brawn got up and walked over to Sideburn’s crib. He peeked in and made a questionable look before lowering the side and climbing up the side almost into the crib. Sideburn was still, too still for X-Brawn. X-Brawn moved forward a bit and moved his one hand towards Sideburn’s face.

Normally any Transformer’s metal would be warm because of the friction of the plates and what not, but Sideburn’s face was as cold as scrap metal. X-Brawn went rigid with terror as he moved his hand towards Sideburn’s nose. ‘Breathing’ was critical to function, just so that one’s systems didn’t over heat, like antifreeze in a car. There was a lack of any air coming in or out.

Prowl noticed how much his older brother changed, going from the curious and normal stance, to rigid and now to a slight shake. This frightened Prowl into standing up and wearily making his way over to X-Brawn.

“X-Brawn…what’s wrong?” Prowl’s weak voice called out. X-Brawn gulped a bit and jumped down trying to fight back the lump of terror and tears in his throat.

“Stay here…I’ll go ‘n’ get Mom and Dad…” X-Brawn was about to leave when Prowl caught him by the shoulder.

“What’s wrong with Sideburn?” Prowl asked now shaking slightly with fear. X-Brawn tried to stay calm and not to cry, but his voice failed and squeaked in fear.

“Sideburn’s not movin’…or breathin’. I gotta go get Mom and Dad. Stay here…” X-Brawn then bolted out, leaving Prowl to whimper and look in panic at Sideburn.

X-Brawn skidded to a halt as he entered the living room.

“X-Brawn…what’s wrong?” Brawn said noticing his son’s panic.

“I-it’s Sideburn! He ain’t movin’!” X-Brawn began to cry in terror and guilt. Firebird and Brawn quickly ran out, Firebird picking up X-Brawn on the way.

They rushed into their room and Prowl quickly ran towards his mother bawling.

“He isn’t movin’! He isn’t movin’!” Prowl gasped in between his sobs. Firebird knelt down hugging both X-Brawn and Prowl as Brawn ran over to Sideburn’s crib.

“Shhh…shhh…its okay…Sideburn will be alright…” Firebird looked up at Brawn’s back worried and trying to hide it.

Brawn felt Sideburn’s neck where the pulse of mech fluid should have been, and nothing happened. He turned to Firebird and tried to calm down.

“Firebird, take the boys and go downstairs. Call Ratchet and tell him this is an emergency!” He said his voice quivering. Firebird nodded and herded her sons downstairs and quickly went to call Ratchet.

Brawn carefully picked up his son and tried to hold back the tears. He collected himself and then hurried downstairs.

The wail of Ratchet’s sirens was both a welcome, and disturbing sign for Firebird and her sons. She saw Brawn come down the stairs, a limp blue body in his arms, and turned away tearing up. Prowl was clinging to his mother and sobbing, worried over his younger brother. X-Brawn was trying to stay calm, but he too was crying and nuzzling Firebird.

Brawn rushed outside as Ratchet Transformed, his medical station that was included with his earthen vehicle mode, ready to assist Brawn and Sideburn. Brawn handed Ratchet his son, and climbed up onto the station, worried for Sideburn’s life.

It was almost hopeless, to Ratchet. Sideburn had crashed, and big time. Every system was down; the only activity was his spark, which was fading, and the fading activity in Sideburn’s mother board. Ratchet tried desperately to bring Sideburn back. He used everything he could think of, but there was a bleak ending in sight. Ratchet frowned and tried once again to bring the small mech back from death. He gave a small jolt of electricity into the small frame, it jumped and almost right away, there was finally a response. Systems began to boot up again, his pulse was stronger, and activity was becoming stronger as well. Ratchet sighed deeply and looked at Brawn with a small smile.

“He’ll be alright.” He said with a sigh. Brawn sighed in relief and smiled walking up to his son. Sideburn twitched a bit and then finally opened his optics. Brawn grinned softly and put a hand on Sideburn’s head. Sideburn smiled and tried to get up to be in his father’s embrace, but Brawn kept him down.

“Is there anything we should do for him, Ratchet?” Brawn asked looking up at him. Ratchet sighed and rubbed his chin.

“I’m not sure if there’s anything you could do. I’ve seen shut downs like these happen only once, the kid survives and it doesn’t happen again, and the other way around. You’re lucky you didn’t loose him Brawn. I was worried that something like this might have happened to him. All I can say is just to watch him. You’re lucky Brawn…” Ratchet looked down at Sideburn who was hugging Brawn’s arm. Brawn looked down as well with a smile and gently picked up his son.

“I’m lucky because of X-Brawn and Prowl. If it hadn’t been for them…it would have been too late by the time Firebird and I came upstairs.” Brawn sighed with a grateful smile at Ratchet.

“Thanks. Thank you so much Ratchet.” Brawn said rubbing his son’s back.

“Don’t thank me, you should thank you’re other sons.” Ratchet smiled and put a hand on Brawn’s shoulder.

“Modesty isn’t always you’re strong point Ratchet.” Brawn said with a chuckle. Ratchet smiled and shook his head.

“I try sometimes.” Ratchet chuckled a bit as Brawn walked off the platform.

“Thanks again Ratchet.” Ratchet smiled and nodded at Brawn. He transformed and headed back to the medical office.

Brawn walked slowly into the house, he was shaking a bit, but more out of joy than out of shock from earlier. Sideburn had his arms wrapped around his father’s neck and was smiling happily.

Firebird stepped worriedly into the hallway looking at Brawn. She put one hand to her mouth and worriedly gasped.

“Is he…?” She started.

“He’s fine Firebird…he’s fine.” Brawn said with a slight chuckle. Sideburn looked over his shoulder at his mother and almost jumped into her arms as Brawn began to hand him to her.

“Oh thank Primus. Sideburn…Primus you’re okay…” Joyful tears began to stream down her face as she put her cheek on her son’s.

Slowly, almost afraid, X-Brawn and Prowl peeked out from the living room. Sideburn sniffed once and looked up clearing away his tears. He saw his brothers and smiled with a small laugh. X-Brawn and Prowl grinned under their masks and ran down the hall to their mother and father.

“Boys.” Brawn knelt down and his older sons jumped into his arms.

“Thank you…if it wasn’t for you…Sideburn wouldn’t be here right now.” Brawn smiled at his sons with a very grateful smile.

“R-really?” Prowl said surprised.

“We saved his life?” X-Brawn asked. Brawn nodded.

“Yeah…You saved him. Why don’t you go see you’re brother…I bet he wants to thank you in his own way.” The two smiled and nodded before going over to their mother. Firebird gave them a hug and thanked them as well.

“How about we go into the living room…so you boys can play, alright?” X-Brawn and Prowl nodded at their mother and followed her into the living room. Brawn followed and sat down next to his wife.

Sideburn was put down on the floor with his brothers, where he smiled and hugged both of them. He looked up at them wide eyed almost as if he had something to say, but he still hadn’t learned how to speak.

~ You guys wouldn’t believe what I’ve seen; I wish I could tell you. ~ Sideburn thought with a smile as he and his brother’s began to play. ~ I guess I’ll have to tell you later…~ Sideburn giggled and pushed his thoughts aside, turning only to the game.

A year later and like his older brothers, Sideburn learned to speak and was starting to put together sentences. X-Brawn was 4 and a half, and Prowl was three. The brothers were beginning to show specialties in their games. X-Brawn was a good fighter whenever he and his father wrestled. Prowl was good at seeking out his brothers. Even if he was asleep when they left, he could track them down from pretty much memorizing the routine. And Sideburn, he was the fastest. But all three of them shared one common item, their love for adventure. Even though it often meant that all three had a different plan for playing, they figured out what to do.

It wasn’t long until it was time for their check up’s. Much to the boys’ horror.

“ACK!! NOO!!” Sideburn yelped as Firebird went to catch him.

“Oh no you don’t Sideburn!” Firebird called after him with a chuckle.

“No way!” Sideburn began to giggle as he ran from his mother. Firebird didn’t have any problem with catching her son, but holding him still was another problem all together. Sideburn wiggled and fought against her, laughing all the time.

“Alright you little rascal…stay still Sideburn!” Firebird laughed and walked into the living room putting Sideburn on his back on the couch.

“No…nope!” Sideburn giggled and wiggled some more. Firebird smiled and began to tickle her son.

“Tell me where your brothers are Sideburn, or I’ll just keep tickling you!” Firebird laughed as she continued. Sideburn was trying to get away from his mother’s tickle storm, but didn’t have much success.

“Ahh!! No! I’ll never tell! Ahhh Hehehe ha ha-ha!!” Sideburn didn’t have to tell, because Brawn came in with X-Brawn and Prowl over his shoulders both laughing fairly hard.

“I have these two Firebird.” Brawn laughed and flipped the two upside down for a while before flipping them upright and setting them on the couch. The three brothers laughed and tried to get away. Firebird and Brawn stopped them though with a lighthearted laugh.

“Now come-on boys, you like Ratchet.” Firebird said looking at the three of them.

“Yeah, we like him, just not the shots…” Prowl said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

“Yeah they hurt!” X-Brawn said rubbing his arm. Sideburn nodded in agreement with his brothers.

“Oh now it’s not that bad…” Brawn smiled and gave the three of them a gentle rub on the head.

“Alright, we’re going to be late. Let’s go.” Firebird and Brawn picked up their sons and walked out of the house. The three boys had a choice of which parent they wanted to ride with. They weren’t able to keep up with their Cybertronian modes. Sideburn almost always chose his mother, while the X-Brawn like riding with his father, Prowl he really didn’t care but today, he rode with X-Brawn in their father’s Land Rover mode. Sideburn happily rode in his mother’s Sunfire mode.

They were almost there, when X-Brawn decided to cause mischief, it was normal for him to do that.

“Sideburn’s a Mama’s boy!” He called out over the CB his father had, and to his mother, or more appropriately, to Sideburn.

“I am not!” Sideburn said defensively. X-Brawn and Prowl giggled to themselves.

“Are too-ooo!” Prowl said with a laugh.

“I am not! Mooo-ooom! Make them stop!” Sideburn whined. Brawn and Firebird chuckled.

“Alright boys, stop it now. We’re here.” Firebird said as Brawn pulled over.

The check up went fine and luckily for the boys, no shots today. Ratchet grinned and gave the three of them Energon goodies.

“Thank you!” They chorused as they munched on them.

“You’re welcome.” Ratchet grinned at the small boys before turning to Brawn.

“What do you think?” Brawn asked when Ratchet turned to him.

“About Sideburn? He’ll be fine. I’m pretty sure it was a fluke, he’s growing fine, and he’s a little bundle of trouble though.” Ratchet chuckled warmly, as did Brawn as he watched Firebird and his sons.

“I know that all to well. Those three…they’re something else Ratchet, they really are.” Brawn smiled fondly at his family.

“Yeah, they get along so well. UN-like a pair of twins that were enough to drive one crazy.” Ratchet sighed and snorted a bit in good humor.

“How are those two by the way, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker?” Brawn said curious about his fellow Autobots.

“Well, Sideswipe’s on Earth, and Sunstreaker came in a few weeks ago saying he was going back to see him. Had to get a check up as well. Would you believe that he’s still a fanatic about his vehicle mode?” Ratchet said shaking his head with a warm smile.

“I would…well, we should get out of you’re way.” Ratchet put a hand on Brawn’s shoulder.

“One more thing, you’ve heard about those Predacons right? Not the one’s we knew, but the new ‘breed’, so to speak, of Transformer?” Brawn nodded silently at Ratchet.

“Well…there’s one of them, Sky-Byte, or Sky-Bite, I’m not sure, but…he’s been causing trouble, just like ‘Cons do. Heard something about him coming around here…thought I’d tell you, he’s not one for little one’s as far as I’ve heard.” Ratchet was dead serious.

“Right…thanks for the info. I’ll keep my audios open for anything else. Well, I know Wheeljack’s coming to town for you to repair him, so, I’ll get outta you’re way.” Brawn chuckled and gave the larger Autobot a pat on the back, and walked away to his wife and children. He kept the information he found out from Ratchet to himself.

As if on cue, a slightly damage, not SERIOUSLY though, Lancia Stratos rolled up to the office.

“Hey ya Brawn! Firebird!” Wheeljack said, his accent was a bit heavier sounding, but maybe that was because Brawn and Firebird hadn’t heard the almost Jewish Brooklyn accent in a long time.

“Wheeljack.” Brawn grinned as Wheeljack transformed. The boys shied away for a bit, not sure of whom the mech was.

“Good to see you Wheeljack. You heard about our boys, right?” Firebird said smiling. Wheeljack nodded with a chuckle, his ‘ears’ flashing.

“Yeah, the little Autobot Brothers.” Wheeljack smiled his optics bright at the three.

“Hi…” Sideburn said nervously. Wheeljack chuckled and patted the three brother’s heads.

“Ya got a good bunch a kids you two. Well I’d better get in there, don’t wanna get Ratchet mad at me ‘n all.” Wheeljack waved and headed inside. Brawn and Firebird smiled and waved back, before transforming and heading back home with their boys.

A year passed, X-Brawn was 5, Prowl was going to turn 4 in a few months and Sideburn was nearing his second birthday with in 3 weeks.

Brawn sat down stairs alone on the couch. It was late at night; he hadn’t been able to sleep lately. News traveled fast on Cybertron and when news of a Predacon who had been moving towards his home town, Brawn worried.

“Sky-Byte…I have to tell Firebird.” Brawn said softly in the dimly lit room. He was fearful, if only for his children. He sighed and covered his face to think.

X-Brawn also was having trouble getting to sleep. Though he was tired, he couldn’t get comfortable. So, getting out of his bed quietly, so not to wake up his brothers, he started to walk out.

“X-Brawn?” Prowl said sitting up, very much awake.

“Oh, I’m sorry Prowl. I didn’t mean ta wake ya up.” He said looking at the soft yellow optics of his brother.

“We weren’t asleep anyway…” Sideburn said softly sitting up in his bed, he finally got out of his crib and into a bed.

“Well…let’s go and sleep with mom and dad then. That’s where I was headed.” X-Brawn smiled a bit as his brothers got up and joined him. They walked out of their room, and started towards their parents’ room, but Sideburn noticed the light that came from downstairs.

“Hey, someone’s downstairs guys.” Sideburn said pointing. Prowl and X-Brawn looked and shrugged.

“Well, come-on then. It must be Dad.” Prowl said, making his way down the stairs quietly. The other two followed carefully and slowly so they didn’t trip. They looked into the living room, and saw their father’s shadow.

“Dad…” X-Brawn called out to him.

“Huh…boys…what are you doing up?” He said as the three came out of the shadows and into the light.

“We couldn’t sleep…” Sideburn said softly, as they walked towards their father.

“Well…that makes four of us, come-on up here.” Brawn smiled, his worries temporarily leaving him. He helped them up onto the couch, and onto his lap, X-Brawn on one side of his lap, Prowl on the other, and Sideburn content under his father’s one arm.

“Well…let’s see. You guys want a story?” Brawn asked and then thought.

“No…not really.” The Autobot Brothers said after looking at each other shortly.

“A lullaby maybe?” Brawn said a little shyly. The three looked at each other and then grinned nodding their heads at Brawn.

“Well…alright. Let’s see…I…I’m not very good at songs, but I remember this one song I heard when I was on Earth, fighting the Great War. It…it fits right now. Let’s see if I can’t remember it…” Brawn paused for a moment thinking.

“Here we go. It went like this:

Goodnight my son,
Goodnight my friend.
Rest you’re soul,
At this long days end.

The fire inside,
Will warm our night.
Daddy’s arms,
Will hold you tight.

Dream of summer skies
Sunset is bound to reach sunrise.
Rest is you’re first right,
My friend goodnight.

This world spinning,
Time always winning.
Silver chains keep thinning at
This is just you’re beginning.

Sleep my friend,
At Last be free, No
We won’t forget our merriest melody

Gone to another place
Where carrousel rides round an angels face
I’m sure we’d both laugh at the sight
My friend goodnight,
My friend goodnight.
Day-oh, Day-ah
Day-oh, Day-ah
Day-oh, Day-ah
Day-oh, Day-ah
Day-oh, Day-ah”

Brawn stopped singing in his warm base voice as X-Brawn, Prowl and Sideburn were all fast asleep. He grinned and continued to hum. As he did, he began to nod off himself.

By the time Firebird walked downstairs, after knowing that Brawn didn’t come to bed, Brawn, and the boys, were fast asleep. She grinned and chuckled a bit.

“My boys…” She chuckled and turned off the light to let them sleep, and then left to go back upstairs.

For a long time, Brawn forgot about the Predacon trouble maker. It was quiet and peaceful after all. Then, Brawn heard about the mech again. He knew he couldn’t avoid it much longer.

They put their sons to bed and Brawn told Firebird.

“I didn’t want to worry you Firebird, I’m sorry.” Brawn said with a frown. Firebird was upset yes, but she slowly understood why.

“It’s alright…but…what do we do? If he comes here…” Firebird trailed off into unsaid thoughts and worries.

“I…we’d have to get them out of here.” Firebird nodded and leaned up against Brawn.

“Yes…but where? Where would they be safe?” Brawn rubbed her back and thought.

“I…I’m not sure…maybe…maybe we could drop them off out of town for the weekend or so. They’d be safe at least.” Brawn smiled a bit at Firebird.

“Yeah…maybe we could do that, but where?” Firebird asked. Brawn frowned a bit.

“Now…don’t over react…maybe…a daycare or something like that.” Brawn smiled a bit nervously.

“Yeah…that…sounds alright.” Firebird smiled back at Brawn and stood up.

“They’ll be fine there, and he’s not far. But I’m sure that they’ll be safe. Come on…we should get to bed.” Brawn smiled and his smile was returned. The two walked up the stairs and retired for the evening.

X-Brawn was nearing his 6th birthday very soon, and he was excited. Prowl was 4 years old, and Sideburn was 3. The parents didn’t tell them about the Predacon that was nearing their home; they didn’t want to worry them. Maybe, it would have been a better idea to tell them though.

It was late at night; the boys were in bed, when Brawn received a call from Ratchet. It was short, and quick before Brawn turned to Firebird nervously.

“He’s here…” Brawn said quietly.

“Oh no, I was hoping this wouldn’t come…I don’t want to leave them. They’re our boys.” Firebird said equally as soft.

“I know I know, but it’s for their own safety. Let’s go now before he comes any closer.” Brawn held Firebird’s shaking hand as they walked up the stairs.

X-Brawn gulped and quickly covered himself up with the blankets as the door to their room opened.

Brawn and Firebird crept in quietly and went over to the brothers.

“Mommy?” Sideburn said sleepily as Firebird picked him up from his bed.

“Yes…shhh…its okay.” Firebird said hugging her son close.

“What’s going on?” Prowl said rubbing his optics as Brawn picked him up.

“We…we’re going on a little trip. Don’t worry…” Brawn swallowed and headed out X-Brawn walking along side him. Firebird wasn’t far behind with Sideburn in her arms.

The ride was quiet but wasn’t long. Brawn and Firebird were silent, and the boys started to fall asleep. The two pulled up to a house sadly. It wasn’t what they were looking for but it was as close as they could get. They roused the brothers and transformed once they were out.

“Don’t worry babies…we’ll be back…we promise. We’ll be back in a day. You’re dad and I just need some time alone…” Firebird fought the tears back, she knew she was going to see them again, but she was worried as any mother would be. She kneeled down and gave them a hug.

“It’s okay boys…everything’s alright…” Brawn gave them a hug after he was done talking to the mech behind the desk.

They gave the brothers a kiss, and turned to leave. Sideburn started to cry, he had never really been away from his parents, and he was afraid.

“Mommy?” He said weakly. Firebird turned back and smiled at her youngest son.

“It’s alright Sideburn…everything’s okay…mommy will be back soon. I’ll see you in the morning.” Firebird smiled at him as he sniffed and cleared his tears on the back of his hand.

“O-okay…” Sideburn frowned and gave his mother a hug and a kiss as she did the same. Firebird smiled softly and then got up walking away with Brawn.

For a moment, the three stood there looking out the window at their parents going back home, Sideburn in the middle between his older brothers. They all were upset but…they knew they would see them again.

“Come-on you three…there’s some beds that are free for you.” The mech that was behind the desk came up and herded them away from the window. Sideburn looked back and saw his mother’s Red Sports-car mode and sighed wiping away another tear before going back to bed.

Brawn and Firebird drove back into their town. Already Autobots and some Decepticons were trying to hunt down the flying terror. They transformed and Brawn headed over to one of the Autobots.

“How’s it coming Prowl?” Brawn asked to the Datsun.

“It’s touch and go. Bluestreak’s going around checking in other neighborhoods to make sure that he isn’t there and to tell others to keep an optic open.” Prowl said not taking his optics off the horizon.

“We’ve gotten the boys off to somewhere safe. Hopefully we’ll be able to stop him here.” Brawn said crossing his arms over his chest.

“I have a feeling we will. Here comes Bluestreak now.” Prowl made a motion with his head towards the horizon as another Datsun, silver and blue, came over it at top speed.

“Guys!” Bluestreak transformed and stumbled a bit before catching his balance and regaining his breath.

“What’s wrong Bluestreak?” Prowl asked noticing the slight panic in his fellow Datsun’s voice.

“He’s coming…right behind me. I was able to hit off a few rounds on him but he followed me.” Bluestreak leaned over onto his knees catching his breath.

“Alright Blue, go and catch you’re breath, we’ll handle it.” Brawn smiled and patted Bluestreak’s shoulder.

“Right…I’ll be back though; I gotta…go get my gun.” Brawn smiled at Bluestreak and nodded him off.

“Alright, it’s now or never…” Brawn sighed and got out his gun, and then noticed out of the corner of his optic that Firebird was doing the same.

“I’m not going to let you do this alone Brawn.” Firebird smiled and walked over to him. Brawn smiled back, but the smile was quickly cut off by two missiles flying overhead.

“Here he comes!” Prowl called out, taking on a defensive stance, and taking out his Acid Pellet Gun. Brawn and Firebird split up and went on defense. Over the horizon, a large Transmetal two great white shark flew. His jaws were open and he was firing missiles at anyone and anything.

From there on, the battle was a blur in their minds, at least most of the time. Bluestreak came back into battle, doing as much as he could, firing his shoulder cannons and his gun. The battle seemed almost to be in Sky-Byte’s favor, until he did the dumbest thing he could have done.

“FIREBIRD!” Brawn called out as he saw her fly back and crack her head on the ground. Brawn’s mech fluid boiled as he turned his attention back to the laughing Sky-Byte, who was now on the ground fighting hand to hand in robot mode. He took one look at Firebird, who was being carried off by some other Autobots, and then dropped his gun. He ran over to some debris and picked up the largest piece he could handle, which meant trouble for Sky-Byte. Brawn heaved it at the Predacon, just when Sky-Byte fired his laser blast at Brawn.

Brawn flew back and into a building, his vision quickly fading into darkness. He got one last good look at the Predacon as the others began to overpower him. Brawn’s head spun and his entire body pained him. Finally, he gave up and all he saw was darkness and felt no more pain.

It was 16 years later, and a lone dark figure went into the Cybertronian equivalent of a cemetery. He sighed and stood over a large marker, a couple’s space for rest, and hung his head for a moment of silence. Then clearing his optics he knelt down and mumbled a few things in Cybertron’s original language. Then he smiled a bit at the marker.

“I’ve found them…after so long, I know where they are. I promise, I’ll find them, and bring them home.” He stood his smile still there a bit and bowed his head again before turning off to catch the next shuttle to Earth.
